OMAHA Children’s Business Fair Showcases Youth Entrepreneurial Skills

The annual Omaha Children’s Business Fair brought together more than 100 youth to showcase their entrepreneurial skills in a one-day marketplace event. The fair provided children with the opportunity to connect with local business owners and mentors, allowing them to build their entrepreneurial skills and bring their ideas to life.

Founder Rachel Benson emphasized the importance of creating a safe space for children to explore their ideas and receive encouragement. Participants, like young entrepreneur Estelle McIntosh, created their products independently, with McIntosh starting her business, Aesthetic Art, by making painted jean jackets.

The fair focused on building business confidence and personal growth in children, teaching them the value of perseverance and learning from failure. Mentors and judges, including Rachael Fox, volunteered their time to support the young entrepreneurs and recognize their hard work and dedication.

Despite initial challenges, participants like McIntosh found joy in seeing others appreciate their creations and learned valuable lessons about resilience and adaptation. The event highlighted the creativity and determination of the youth involved, inspiring them to continue pursuing their entrepreneurial dreams.
