Textron Aviation Valencia Service Center Receives NATA Recertification for Green Aviation Business

Textron Aviation’s Valencia Service Center Achieves NATA Recertification for Sustainability Efforts

Textron Aviation’s Valencia Service Center has recently achieved Tier 2 status in the National Air Transportation Association’s (NATA) Sustainability Standard for Aviation Businesses program. This recognition highlights Textron Aviation’s commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship within the aviation industry.

The Valencia Service Center is one of four Textron Aviation company-owned service centers that have gone above and beyond NATA’s certification requirements to implement additional sustainable practices. These practices include phasing out single-use plastic items, installing motion-sensor lighting, and ensuring energy-efficient kitchen appliances and plumbing fixtures. Additionally, these locations have developed policies to reduce idling in ground support equipment.

Brian Rohloff, senior vice president of Customer Support at Textron Aviation, expressed the company’s dedication to sustainable solutions, stating, “We continue to invest in our processes and facilities to encourage sustainable solutions across the globe, because we understand the importance of driving economic growth while preserving our natural resources.”

To achieve base-level certification, all facilities must establish a baseline carbon footprint and work toward reducing greenhouse gas emissions. They must also offer recycling programs, implement paperless systems, install LED lighting, and reduce the use of plastic water bottles. Textron Aviation is actively supporting the development of sustainable propulsion solutions, such as hydrogen electric and hybrid electric, and remains engaged in sustainability initiatives within the aviation industry.

Textron Aviation’s Valencia Service Center’s achievement is part of the company’s broader commitment to environmental sustainability and natural resource conservation. By the close of 2025, Textron Aviation aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 20% and achieve a 10% reduction in energy consumption, water usage, and waste generation. The company has also harnessed renewable wind energy to meet nearly all its electricity needs in Kansas.

Customers of Textron Aviation, which includes the Beechcraft, Cessna, and Hawker brands, have access to a global network of service centers and support facilities. The company’s dedication to sustainability is evident in its product designs and operations, with a focus on reducing emissions and enhancing efficiency.

Textron Aviation’s Valencia Service Center’s Tier 2 status is a testament to the company’s ongoing efforts to promote sustainability and environmental responsibility within the aviation industry.
