Attempted Break-In Caught on Surveillance Video at Small Paper Business in Vernon
The small paper business in Vernon, Small Paper Co., was the target of an attempted break-in captured on surveillance video on Sunday, April 28. The suspect, wearing a hoodie, was seen on a scooter outside the business before smashing a glass door with a large rock.
Owner Diana Rodriguez expressed her frustration at the unnecessary damage caused by the break-in, estimating the cost of repairs to be between $350 to $550. The business, which has been operating for nearly 40 years, does not keep cash on the premises, but the incident still left a significant impact.
Despite the break-in, Rodriguez remains hopeful that the suspect will be caught, as incidents like this are becoming more common in the area. The owners have filed a police report, but the suspect remains at large.
The surveillance video shows the suspect fleeing the scene after the alarm system was triggered, followed by a black Honda with covered plates pulling into the driveway briefly before driving away. The business is equipped with five cameras inside and outside the warehouse, providing valuable evidence for the investigation.
Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward and help identify the suspect responsible for the attempted break-in at Small Paper Co. in Vernon.
